Bell Textron thanks Denton County for support of new Alliance Corridor facility

Bell Textron praised Denton County officials Tuesday for assistance during site selection and the county's role in advancing a new aerospace manufacturing facility that company leaders say will produce tiltrotor parts and create local jobs.
Brian Chase, vice president for government affairs at Bell Textron Inc., thanked the Denton County Commissioners Court on Tuesday for county staff's help during site selection and for support at the company's recent facility opening in the Alliance Corridor.
"I really just want to come here this morning and thank you for your partnership in that new aerospace manufacturing facility down in the Alliance Corridor," Chase said. He told the court the plant will produce "drives and the blades for our next generation tiltrotor aircraft," a program Chase said is intended to support U.S. Army and Marine Corps modernization and has interest from international partners.
Chase also singled out county staff member Rena Malone for assistance during the company's site-selection and agreement process. Commissioners responded with brief remarks of thanks and congratulations to the company.
Chase said the factory will take several years to come online and called the project important for local employment and national defense. Court members offered congratulations and said they would continue to work with company and staff as the project progresses.
No formal action, funding request or vote on the project was recorded on the court's agenda during the meeting.
