At the Rockwall City Council meeting on Feb. 3, 2025, a representative of the Rockwall Chamber delivered the chamber's quarterly report, summarizing recent marketing, conference participation and tourism promotion activities and announcing a tourism designation.
The chamber representative said the organization attended multiple regional and statewide events, including Rockwall County Days at the state fair, the Texas Municipal League conference in Houston, Destination Southwest, the Texas Travel Summit and a Texas Association of Convention & Visitors Bureau regional workshop in McKinney. The representative said the chamber is actively pursuing meetings and conferences with local hoteliers, and highlighted that hosting the Marine Corps Ball at the Hilton generated an estimated 60–70 room nights and additional food-and-beverage revenue.
The chamber reported digital and print marketing efforts, including a postcard sent to more than 900 meeting planners through the Texas Society of Associations Executive Membership Directory and a half-page ad in the Texas events calendar (reported distribution: 65,000 copies statewide). The chamber said its social media engagement was strong in the quarter and that videos produced for the Hometown Christmas event were top performers online. The representative said Rockwall was designated a 'tourism-friendly community' through Bridal Texas and noted Rockwall is the fifth city in the state to receive that designation.
Council members thanked the presenter for the report; Council member Lewis commented that the report was “great” and that the chamber's work was appreciated. The chamber representative closed by saying 2025 had been a strong start and that the organization would share celebration details for the designation in the near future.
No formal council action or vote was taken on the chamber's report; it was presented as an informational update.
