Grove City Council approves minutes, removes resolution CR524 from agenda; first reading set for employee-status ordinance

The Grove City Council dispensed with the reading of the minutes and approved the minutes from the Jan. 21 and Jan. 30 meetings, amended the evening’s agenda to remove Resolution CR524 and held a first reading of Ordinance C0325.
A motion to dispense with the reading of the Jan. 21 and Jan. 30 minutes and approve them “as written” was made and seconded; during the roll call, Council members Burroughs, Anderson, Anthony Wilson, Elk, Bolt, Gary, Dew and Perros recorded "Yes." The presiding officer declared the minutes approved by unanimous consent.
Council then considered an amendment to the agenda to remove Resolution CR524. A motion to remove the resolution was made and seconded and the roll call again recorded "Yes" from Anderson, Wilson, Hauck, Volk, Gary, Dew and Perros (and others present), resulting in the item’s removal by unanimous consent.
The council heard a first reading of Ordinance C0325, described by staff as "an ordinance to amend chapter 161.10 of the codified ordinances titled employee status, number of employees per department, and pay grades." The first reading concluded with notice that the ordinance’s second reading will occur on Feb. 18, 2025. No final action on the ordinance was taken at the meeting.
