He also noted the annual Hoops for History basketball game between local youth and members of the Grand Prairie Police Department set for Thursday, Feb. 27, at the Dilworth Recreation Center.
On utilities, Jensen said the city plans to launch a new customer portal for water payments “a little later this year.” “This upgrade will feature a state of the art customer experience that promises to make paying your water bill and checking your usage faster and more convenient,” he said. The mayor indicated the city will share more details through social media and the city website when available.
The mayor also announced that the 2025 City of Grand Prairie calendars are available free at City Hall and encouraged residents to pick up copies. He summarized recent and upcoming capital‑project milestones, saying the city held a groundbreaking at the future site of Topgolf, which he said is expected to open at the end of this year, and that Sycamore Park recently had a ribbon cutting for a new playground.
