Sussex County commissioners approve broad package of resolutions, awards and routine actions

At its Dec. 11 meeting the Board adopted a block of resolutions (A–QQ), awarded contracts/change orders, approved payments and personnel actions and authorized miscellaneous routine items including purchase authorizations referenced in staff reports.
The Sussex County Board of County Commissioners on Dec. 11 approved a large set of routine and administrative items in block votes and roll-call motions, including resolutions A through QQ, awards of contract/change order resolutions A–C, payment of bills lists A and B, and approval of the personnel agenda.
Deputy Director Carney moved to adopt resolutions A through QQ and Commissioner Schick provided the second; the board recorded a roll-call vote with all members present voting yes. The board also approved awards of contract/change order resolutions A–C in a separate block vote, and approved payment of bills lists A and B after roll-call votes.
Staff reports and comments included several agenda items noted by department heads: the Division of Health sought authorization to submit a $10,000 Medical Reserve Corps operational readiness award application for training and recruitment; the Division of Community and Youth Services had a resolution on the agenda to use $99,955 in opioid settlement funds to purchase vape sensors for middle and high schools; and the Division of Planning and Public Works provided project and asset-management updates.
The clerk reported fiscal-year revenue gains in the county clerk’s office compared with the previous fiscal year and noted outreach efforts such as property alert system enrollments. The Board approved the personnel agenda and directed the clerk to publish adopted resolutions and related notices as required.
These block actions and administrative approvals were presented and approved with little discussion during the meeting. Specific roll-call votes were recorded as part of each motion on the agenda.
