Visit Granbury wins 10 marketing awards; director Tammy Dooley elected state association president

Tammy Dooley, director of Visit Granbury, told the Granbury meeting that Visit Granbury won 10 awards at a statewide marketing competition and that she was elected president of the Texas Association of Fairs and Events.

Dooley said the association’s conference was held in Fort Worth two weeks earlier and described it as the largest such event in the state. "We received, 7 first place awards and 3 second place awards," she said, and noted she attended the conference with Kristen Gibson and Rhiannon Meline. "I do serve on the state executive board and I've been working myself through the ranks for many years," Dooley added. "And I'm very, very proud to be the new president, which is quite a responsibility for me. It's something I'm really looking forward to."

Dooley listed the awards Visit Granbury received in the Texas Association of Fairs and Events' marketing competition: best photo for Lake Fest 2024; best media guide/press kit for Visit Granbury's media guide; best television commercial (a spot titled "Your Summer Escape Awaits" that ran in the West Texas market); best live news coverage for last year's Goosebump Jump on Fox 4 News; best specialty video ("Celebration Capital of Texas," under two minutes); best special video (the same campaign, two minutes or longer); an award for the weekly e-newsletter for a Fourth of July promotion; and two-second-place awards for outdoor advertising for the Sleepy Hollow Experience and for "other merchandise" (noted by Dooley as a Granbury celebration sock). She also said Visit Granbury won an award for "miscellaneous marketing" for city hall window displays.

Kaufman, who opened the portion of the meeting that included Dooley's remarks, congratulated the tourism team and thanked Dooley for her work.
