On the Rapid Pay card, Mr. Harmon described the RapidPay service as a prepaid card and bank network that allows employees who receive paper checks to receive funds electronically on a card. He said the district currently issues paper checks to about 20 employees and that those employees would receive the card and funds on payday rather than collecting paper checks at the district office. Harmon said there would be fee‑free ATM options in town and that RapidPay provides customer service for lost cards or PIN issues. "There is no fee for the employee," Harmon said, and he described the program as commonly used by other districts. Harmon also said the district planned to make the card mandatory for payroll recipients of paper checks; staff added they would work with any employees who encountered challenges.
Board members asked whether funds loaded to the card appear the same day as direct deposit; Harmon answered yes and described app and web access for employees. After discussion, a motion to approve the Rapid Pay card passed on a roll call: Carolyn Lopez — yes; Annemarie Knorr — yes; Tori Anderson — yes; Patty Cutre — yes; Robert Downey — yes.
Finally, the board approved a motion to convene an executive session for the superintendent evaluation, again by a unanimous roll call. President Downey announced the board would move into executive session and noted it could be lengthy.
