Westwood Heights board sets Jan. 8 organization meeting, accepts resignations and approves new hires

The board accepted resignations presented to the district and approved new hires during the personnel portion of the agenda. The resignations accepted included M. Torch (teacher) and T. Pritchett (counselor); the motion was moved by Kim Turner and supported by Walker. Board members described the departures as “vertical moves” and congratulated departing staff on new positions.
The board then approved new hires: B. Bobo as high school science teacher; Jay Lynn as a fourth-grade teacher; and L. Cole as a food-service technician 2 at Academy West. The hires were moved by Jesse Coleman and supported by Corburn; the motion passed by recorded votes of six in favor and zero opposed.
Board members encouraged publicity for the Jan. 8 reception and said the district would use its usual communications channels to notify the community. The board also reminded members to consider officer positions for the upcoming year.
