Saint Mary Parish district earns B, posts statewide growth; superintendent thanks voters for maintenance millage renewals

Watts Elementary, J S O (Oakland) Elementary, M E Norman Elementary, Raintree Elementary, J P Foster Elementary, and Wyandotte Elementary.
Dr. Fagan Bush also noted three high schools—Franklin High, Patterson High and West St. Mary High—were recognized as opportunity honorees for performance among students with disabilities, English learners or economically disadvantaged students.
The superintendent took a moment to thank the community for supporting the renewal of three St. Mary Parish School Board maintenance millages, saying those funds are a crucial source of support for maintaining and improving district facilities.
She reminded the board and public that the last day of the semester is Friday, Dec. 20, Christmas break runs Dec. 23 through Jan. 6, students return Jan. 7 and report cards will be distributed Jan. 8.
