Arts center staff preview Art Attack planning, 2026 exhibit call and upcoming budget review

Arts & History Center staff updated the Kuna City Arts Commission on July 10 about event planning, exhibit scheduling and signage. Staff said planning for the Art Attack event (typically in September) will begin roughly two months ahead of the event; a new event coordinator will lead planning and staff will return to the commission with a proposed role for the commission at the event.

Staff also said the center will issue a call for 2026 exhibits later in July to invite artists to submit for gallery shows next year. The curator reported a new sign is installed on the building to increase public visibility and noted that two exhibits are opening later in the month: an agricultural-history exhibit and a Mary Gardner solo show, with receptions planned to coincide.

Commissioners discussed scheduling and noted the commission's next regular meeting on Oct. 9 falls after the anticipated Art Attack event. One commissioner asked the clerk to include the fiscal-year budget on the October agenda if the city council has approved it by then; staff said the fiscal year begins Sept. 1 and that council approval timing will determine whether a draft can be presented to the commission in October.
