Trustees approve La Raza temporary outdoor dining modification for Mountain Fair period

The Board of Trustees approved a temporary modification application and matching local right-of-way agreement for Carbondale Raza LLC dba La Raza that allows outdoor dining on Main Street during Mountain Fair and other specified dates this summer. The motion, moved by Trustee Chris and seconded by Trustee Colin, passed unanimously.
The application prompted questions because the temporary modification form shows dates from July 20 to Sept. 8 while the town’s revocable right-of-way agreement referenced a narrower Mountain Fair window (July 25–27). Applicant Jordan White told the board La Raza had run a successful outdoor food and beverage operation during Mountain Fair last year and had an approved county food-service permit for the street. He said staff were willing to adjust the right-of-way agreement dates to match the temporary-modification application if the board approved.
Patrick (town staff) confirmed the item can be adjusted in the revocable license if the board wants the dates to align with the temporary modification. Trustees asked staff to monitor how multiple liquor and outdoor-dining licenses interact with Mountain Fair operations and said they would revisit any issues that arise.
Action taken: board approved the temporary modification and directed staff to align the right-of-way agreement dates with the temporary modification as part of the local authorization.
