The board approved Amendment 1 to the MTC Aviation Classroom contract with Schenkel & Schultz Inc. for $139,209 and a separate hangar agreement amendment for $149,766. Both items passed on voice votes recorded as 5-0.
Supporters said the amendments move construction and FAA-required preparations forward. "We would have 2 cohorts going at the same time," said Dr. Gansby, identified in the meeting as a Manatee Technical College representative, describing an initial program model that could serve about 50 daytime students and expand into evening cohorts.
