FLVS board approves budget adjustments, teacher pay plan, policy updates and Purple Star resolution

The Florida Virtual School Board of Trustees approved a package of fiscal and policy actions during its quarterly meeting, adopting budget amendments for the current and next fiscal year, approving a teacher salary distribution plan tied to state-provided TSIA funds, authorizing a 3% base salary increase for non-TSIA support staff (retroactive to July 1), and approving a series of policies and a Purple Star resolution recognizing support for military families.

Board members approved an omnibus consent agenda covering contract renewals and routine annual reports before taking up the financial items.

Budget amendments: Senior Director of Financial and Treasury Services Corey Wheeler presented two budget amendments. The fiscal year 2024–25 amendment (Amendment No. 5) recognized revenue and appropriation changes that produce a projected net decrease of $4,000,000 to the General Fund ending balance (from $127,000,000 to $123,000,000). Wheeler reported that General Fund revenues rose from $344,300,000 to $349,400,000 year over year, while expenditures rose from $328,400,000 to $346,300,000.
