Sullivan County School Board recognizes students selected for district Christmas card art

The Sullivan County School Board recognized student winners of the district—s Christmas card art contest during a special-recognition portion of Thursday—s meeting.
Board members called up winners in three grade spans—elementary, middle and high school—and presented them with cards made from their artwork and copies for the students to keep. Annabelle Woods, a fifth-grade student at Holston Elementary School, was named as the elementary-division winner.
The board asked the three winners and their families to remain onstage so the district could photograph all three together. A board member encouraged parents in the audience to take their own photographs as well.
The district did not announce the names of the middle-school and high-school division winners on the public record during the recognition segment.
