A community member told the Moscow City Council during the public-comment period that promised community outreach about a stage in East City Park has not occurred.
The commenter identified herself as "Aminita, 203 South Howard," and spoke about East City Park''s trees, benches and historic entrance. She said that at a June meeting the council had accepted "by consensus" to conduct more community outreach and financial comparisons of locations before deciding what to do with the park stage. “Also in the minutes, it was mentioned that outreach could include displays at events at the park and farmer's market and an open house at city hall,” she said.
The resident said she called city hall during the summer but had not seen or heard about the promised outreach and asked the council to hold the open discussion and community input that staff had previously described. There was no formal action taken during the meeting in response to the comment; councilors acknowledged the comment but did not announce a follow-up schedule in the public record.
No additional public commenters took the podium on the topic that night.
