Cole County approves $67,188 change order to close out Arden Subdivision pavement project

Cole County commissioners approved and signed Change Order No. 1 on Jan. 28 for the Arden Subdivision Pavement Improvements Project, increasing the contract cost by $67,187.76 to close out final construction work.
Public Works staff said the contractor, TB Dozing and Excavation, encountered poor subgrade material while completing full-depth repairs and that additional payments were needed for curb removal, type-A curb and gutter, driveway approaches, bituminous paving and compacted rock used to stabilize overdug areas. Conversely, lesser-than-anticipated quantities of drain pipe, clean rock, aggregate base and full-depth pavement repairs reduced some line items. The net effect of the final adjustments was an increase of $67,187.76.
A motion to approve and sign change order number 1 was made, seconded and approved. Staff said this completes final closeout documents for the project.
Ending: County staff will finalize contract closeout paperwork and project records and proceed with any remaining warranty or administrative tasks.
