The community planning and development director, Anne Schneider, presented staff recommendations and explained the boards’ statutory roles under Title 30 of the Colorado Revised Statutes. Schneider told commissioners that the board of adjustment hears land-use appeals and can grant variances from the land development code, while the planning commission advises the board on land-use applications and runs public hearings.
