The action came during a short special meeting that convened after the boards regular meeting ran long. The board moved into executive session pursuant to Arizonas open-meetings law for legal advice, then returned to its special session where a motion was made and seconded to instruct counsel to oppose a motion to intervene filed by the Arizona Secretary of State and Sheriff Daniels. The motion carried by a 3-0 vote.
The vote followed the boards executive-session discussion, which members said had been authorized under A.R.S.
