The Durham County Board of Commissioners approved the consent agenda, adopted minutes for prior meetings and confirmed multiple appointments to county boards and commissions.
The board approved minutes for the Nov. 25 regular session and the Nov. 2 work session after a motion by Commissioner Jacobs and a second by Vice Chair Dr. Lee. The consent agenda was later moved by Commissioner Burton and seconded by Commissioner Valentine and approved by voice vote.
Attorney Williamson announced selections for multiple boards and commissions, including William Vademfook for the county resident alternate position on the Board of Adjustments; Thomas Veralt for the Durham County employee position on the Dangerous Dog Appeal Board; Latasha Bestagati and Hope Veneta for at-large seats on the Durham County Women’s Commission; and Eric Faust, Courtney Maguire and Ramsey Ritchie for vacant positions on the Open Space and Trails Commission. The board then voted to appoint the listed individuals (agenda item 24-0790) during the meeting.
The transcript shows unanimous voice approval for the motions recorded during the meeting. Commissioners also discussed the county’s waiting lists for Meals on Wheels and child-care subsidies and asked staff to place those items for future agenda discussion.
