Greater Tehachapi Chamber previews Wine Walk, luncheon, awards gala and mixer with new county supervisor

The Greater Tehachapi Chamber of Commerce outlined a schedule of community events and business programs for early 2025 including a Wine Walk downtown on Feb. 15, a city update luncheon Feb. 18, a May awards gala after a record 67 nominations, and a planned mixer with newly seated Kern County District 2 Supervisor Chris Parlier.
The Greater Tehachapi Chamber of Commerce announced a slate of events and local business programs for early 2025, led by a downtown Wine Walk scheduled for Feb. 15.
Claire Scottie, executive director of the Greater Tehachapi Chamber of Commerce, said the Wine Walk will run from noon to 5 p.m. and will feature 19 tasting locations pouring local wines, handcrafted chocolates by Rancho Reverie, live music and activities at participating downtown businesses. She said attendees can check in at either the Train Depot Museum or the Visitor Center and that tickets are available online at tehachapi.com.
The chamber also reported a record 67 nominations for its Tehachapi’s Finest awards; the organization said a committee is reviewing submissions and plans to celebrate winners at a gala in May. The chamber said it will soon publish details about the awards event and a related art contest for Mountain Fest, and invited local artists to propose themes for this year’s festival artwork.
Scottie said the chamber added several new members in recent weeks, including Wild Roots (a local retailer), NAMI Kern County, Tiffany Designs salon, Luna’s Mexican Grill, Healing Solutions Family Therapy Center, Awesome Services Inc. (carpet cleaning), Native Real Estate and Victory Family Services.
On the programming calendar, the chamber scheduled a luncheon for Feb. 18 at noon at the American Legion for a city update that will include presentations from city staff and department heads. Scottie said the presentation has been prepared with city staff including Greg and Corey and other department heads.
Separately, Scottie said the chamber is arranging an evening mixer with Kern County District 2 Supervisor Chris Parlier (date to be announced) to give businesses and residents an opportunity to meet the new supervisor. She said dates and event details will be posted on the chamber’s social channels and in chamber newsletters.
The chamber credited community volunteers and sponsors for supporting events; Scottie named the Semoranco team as a glass sponsor and acknowledged support from WM, Discover Tehachapi, The Loop newspaper, the Heritage League Museum and the Tehachapi Amateur Radio Association for volunteer staffing.
The chamber encouraged businesses and residents to watch its social media pages and website for ticketing and contest instructions in the coming weeks.
