Denali Borough committee approves community recreation plan, adds land-acknowledgment language

The Denali Borough Community Outdoor Recreation Committee voted unanimously to approve the borough's Community Outdoor Recreation Plan with the committee's final round of edits and an added land-acknowledgment statement, the committee said during a hybrid meeting where members reviewed public comments and proposed revisions.

The committee approved the plan after members discussed survey results and written comments, edits to the appendix and project descriptions, and several clarifying changes suggested by stakeholders and land managers. Committee members agreed to include a brief land acknowledgment drafted in the meeting and recorded unanimous consent to add it to the plan before the document goes to the Planning Commission and then to the Borough Assembly.
