During the meeting staff described a plan to paint a block building and address a tin shed that staff judged unlikely to be improved substantially by paint alone. On equipment, staff and board members discussed two mower tractors that require repeated repairs and a third machine being stored at a repair facility. Staff said one tractor goes into "limp mode" under load and that two mower tractors (manufactured in 2007 per staff comment) are scheduled for replacement in next year’s proposed budget. Staff said the county will consider switching to a batwing-style mower that runs off the tractor PTO in hopes of reducing recurring mower attachment failures.
Staff noted some storage and repair costs (machines at Murphy and Nielsen's were referenced) and that budgeting for replacement tractors will be included in the next fiscal proposal. No motion was made on purchasing or painting at this meeting; these items remain planning-level discussion.
