Todd (county staff) told the board the city has agreed to purchase the dam and some adjoining property the city already uses as part of its campground and park. Todd said the parcel attached to the dam measures about 2.42 acres and described the transfer as largely a paperwork formalization of existing use. The board approved a resolution numbered 2025-01-27-1 for the sale and agreed to the next steps required by statute: publishing notice at least four but no more than 20 days before the public hearing and holding a hearing before a final resolution.
The board held a roll-call vote on the resolution; the minutes reflect supervisors present voted aye and one member was noted as not present. After discussion about publication timing and scheduling, the board set the public hearing for Feb. 24 at 9 a.m. in order to meet publication deadlines and allow staff time to complete the legal description and posting.
Todd said staff will prepare the legal description and coordinate statutory publications required between the initial resolution and the hearing. Supervisors asked staff to confirm publication deadlines and return with final materials at the scheduled hearing.
