Loudoun County staff provided the Transportation and Land Use Committee a quarterly update Jan. 29 on the Environment and Energy work plan, reporting progress across renewable energy, natural resources, public engagement and government-by-example initiatives.
The county said it will present a final draft county energy strategy in April and will meet with the data center coalition and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in February to discuss how data centers can use more renewable energy. Staff noted a scheduled Feb. meeting with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and the data center coalition to explore pathways for local data centers to increase renewable procurement.
