Trenton Austin, representing GT Plumbing Services LLC, asked the Planning and Zoning Commission to amend Planned Development District 46 to permit a building‑maintenance sales and service use with outside storage on a 47.37‑acre tract in the JA Ramsey survey (PD‑46). Austin said the request is to allow occasional overnight storage of commercial equipment (for example, mini excavators) and trucks when crews are off site.
Planning staff noted that much of PD‑46 was developed outside city limits and that existing properties nearby (including a Sunbelt rental site and boat storage lots) already have outside storage of heavy equipment and boats. Commissioners expressed no major concerns at the staff briefing, and staff encouraged the applicant to attend the public hearing; the case was set for public hearing at the next Planning and Zoning meeting.
No final action was taken at the meeting; staff recommended the application proceed to public hearing with the applicant present.
