Cedar Hill council approves consent agenda including body-worn camera grant, downtown infrastructure work and equipment purchases

The Cedar Hill City Council on Jan. 28 approved its consent agenda, authorizing multiple routine and project-specific actions including grant applications, a discretionary service agreement for downtown infrastructure relocation, facility renovations and water utility equipment purchases.
Councilor Tim Sims moved to approve consent agenda items A through J; Council Member Hayden seconded. The council approved the consent agenda by unanimous voice vote.
The consent agenda as read into the record included: approval of the Jan. 14 meeting minutes; authorization for the mayor to execute a discretionary service agreement with Encore Electric Delivery Company LLC for underground infrastructure relocation on the Downtown Complete Streets Phase 2A project; Resolution R25-748 supporting a second-year renewal application for a body-worn camera (BWC) grant from the Office of the Texas Governor to fund BWCs for 81 personnel; Resolution R25-745 and Resolution R25-747 authorizing grant submissions to the Office of the Texas Governor to support Police and Fire Department activities and youth engagement, respectively; awarding the 2025 Cedar Hill Green Award to Wise Academy as recommended by the Beautification and Environmental Sustainability Board; authorizing the mayor to execute a contract with G2 Contractors for renovations within the Cedar Hill Government Center in an amount not to exceed $105,000; authorizing the purchase of water utility equipment including meters from Core & Main and meter registers from Hydropro Solutions; and approving Resolution R25-749 funding activities of a steering committee of cities served by Encore.
Council members did not pull any items for separate consideration; Wise Academy was present but did not request removal from the consent agenda. The council did not read roll-call tallies; the mayor recorded a unanimous vote in favor of the consent agenda.
