Lemont approves $60,000 HR Green agreement for 2026 water-main design on four streets

The Village of Lemont Village Board approved Resolution R-6-25 to enter a professional services agreement with HR Green, Inc. not to exceed $60,000 to perform design engineering for the villages fiscal year 2026 water-main replacement program on four streets.
Ralph Cooney, a staff member speaking on the project, said: "This is a resolution for our 2026, which is next year's water replacement, program. We've been doing this for several years now. We get the engineering done the previous year before the project starts. This way, it enables us to get the projects out for bid early, so we can get a good bid on those projects when they happen. So this resolution is for an agreement with between HR Green and the Village not to exceed $60,000 for 4 streets you see on the, on the sheet here Forest Lane, Illinois Street, Custer Street, and Yonge Street."
Ralph Cooney confirmed fiscal-year timing during the meeting: fiscal year 2026 begins May 1, 2025 and runs through April 30, 2026.
Board action: Trustee McClafferty moved to approve Resolution R-6-25; Trustee Kittridge seconded. Roll call votes recorded were: Segovski yes; Stapleton yes; Kittridge yes; Maher yes; McClafferty yes. One trustee, Shaughnessy, was absent. The resolution was approved.
The motion authorizes HR Green to prepare design engineering for water-main replacements on Forest Lane, Illinois Street, Custer Street and Yonge Street and sets a not-to-exceed engineering fee of $60,000. Staff said design work is performed in the year before construction to facilitate timely bidding; no construction contract or construction schedule was approved at the meeting.
