The Anna Neighborhood Commission voted to send the City Council a recommendation that the council appoint an ad hoc commission of tax experts and advisers to study property tax programs for senior citizens.
Commissioner Jody Foster, who introduced the proposal, said the recommendation grew from previous meetings and outside research. “I would like to, put forth a motion that we present the paragraph that I've put forth, in this presentation as our proposal to the city council to investigate and, accept or reject or, you know, adjust,” Foster said during the commission’s meeting. Foster asked that the ad hoc body be made up of tax experts and advisers and specifically not be composed of city employees.
