On organizational process improvements, staff outlined continuing stakeholder outreach by the community development director and potential options to streamline planning, zoning and site-plan review, including consideration of hiring an ombudsman to shepherd projects.
The presenter also noted three smaller topics: affordable housing, long-term planning for the town’s water system, and succession planning for the town manager position. After brief discussion, council members agreed staff should place the draft work plan on the next council meeting’s consent agenda.
