Community Vitality and Safety Committee reelects chair and vice chair for 2025

Councilmember Sarah Rumbaugh was reelected chair of the Community Vitality and Safety Committee at the committee’s Jan. 23 meeting, and Councilmember Jameka Scott was elected vice chair for 2025.
The committee followed the City Council rules of procedure requiring standing committees to elect officers at the first meeting of the year. The panel approved both leadership motions by voice vote with no recorded opposition; the chair acknowledged the outcome, saying she looked forward to the year ahead.
The leadership elections were the first item on the agenda and took place before the committee moved into interviews and appointment business. Committee members offered brief remarks of thanks and support after the votes.
