Granite School Board approves consent agenda, introduces incoming principals and assistant principals

The Granite School Board on Jan. 21 approved its consent agenda, which included administrative appointments, and heard introductions of the new principals and assistant principals who will begin their assignments Monday.
Board members approved the consent agenda by voice vote after a motion and second. Following that action, district staff introduced the appointees to the board and members of the public who were in the room.
District staff member John introduced the new appointees, saying it was “my great privilege and honor to introduce you to some of the appointees that you just approved.” The staff introductions named the following assignments, effective Monday unless otherwise noted: Sarah Fairclough, new principal at Bridger Elementary (previously a technology coach and assistant principal); Lindsey Neal, new principal at Wright Elementary (previously an instructional coach and assistant principal); Amy Neal, assistant principal at Copper Hills and West Kearns elementary schools (previously a teacher and administrative intern); and Allison Roaner, assistant principal assigned to Plymouth and Pleasant Green elementary schools (previously a special education teacher and administrative intern). The district also noted a midyear assistant-principal resignation that required filling; Michelle Farmer was mentioned in that context.
Several appointees introduced accompanying family members during the brief introductions. Board chair Connie Burgess thanked the appointees and their families and said on behalf of the board, “We are thrilled. On behalf of the board, thank you.”
District staff said that several other contracted positions approved by the board would have introductions or placements in the spring. The board did not take additional public action on the individual personnel beyond approving the consent agenda.
The appointees will assume their roles beginning Monday, according to the introductions made at the meeting.
