The Bellbrook Board of Zoning Appeals elected Phil O'Grod chair and Miss Breininger vice chair for 2025 after ballot voting during the Jan. 21 meeting.
The board used secret ballots to select officers to ensure each candidate received a counted vote. A staff member explained the ballot process before voting, saying the method shows total votes received for each nominee rather than ending the vote as soon as a majority is reached for one candidate.
On the chair ballot, O'Grod received three votes and Breininger received one. The first round for vice chair produced a 2-2 tie between Breininger and Miss Taylor, so the board held a revote. On the second ballot Breininger won unanimously and was declared vice chair.
The board chair noted the results immediately after tallying and the meeting proceeded to the evening’s other agenda items.
The ballots and the chair’s confirmation were handled at the meeting; no ordinance or external approval was required to finalize the internal officer assignments.
