Board grants two expedited variances and acknowledges multiple continuances and withdrawals

The Metropolitan Board of Zoning Appeals, Division 3, voted on several procedural items and expedited petitions at the hearing.
The board granted a waiver of notice and continued petition 2025-DB3001 (8420 US 31, item 10) to the Feb. 18, 2025 hearing after staff indicated no objection. The board also granted continuances for 2025-DB3002 and 2024-DV3037 to the Feb. 18, 2025 hearing; staff had no objection to those continuances.
Several petitions were automatically continued by timely filings from registered neighborhood organizations; the board acknowledged those continuances without further testimony. A petition (2024-DV3031 at 7031 East 86th Street) was withdrawn by the petitioner and the withdrawal was acknowledged by the board.
On the expedited docket the panel voted unanimously to grant two variances without additional testimony: case 2024-M03-001 (property at 8645 East 25th Street — modification of condition to update site plan) and case 2024-SE3-003 (9910 East Washington Street — special exception and variance to allow a tattoo parlor inside the 230-foot protected-district separation). Chairperson Joanna Taft, Rod Bohannon and Rayanna Bender each voted yes on those expedited items.
The board proceeded to the full docket after the expedited votes.
