Summary
At a special meeting, the Cochise County Board of Supervisors voted to table consideration of demands and related budget amendments until Thursday at 10 a.m. after a supervisor identified a discrepancy in the report's fund column.
The Cochise County Board of Supervisors on an unscheduled special meeting voted to table consideration of demands and budget amendments for operating expenses and transfers until Thursday at 10 a.m., saying finance needs time to correct a discrepancy in the report.
Members present conducted a roll call at the start of the meeting: Supervisor Crosby (District 1), Supervisor Gomez (District 2) and Supervisor Antinori (District 3). The chair noted the meeting was open to the public in person and via Microsoft Teams pursuant to ARS 38-431.
The board began with a motion to review and approve the demands and associated budget amendments. During discussion, a supervisor said the fund column on the current demands report did not match prior reports and cited the last time the board approved demands as Dec. 17. That supervisor moved to table the agenda item so finance could correct the discrepancy.
Board members agreed there were no items that required immediate approval today or tomorrow, and staff confirmed two days would be sufficient for finance to update the report. The motion to table the approval of demands until Thursday at 10 a.m. was seconded and carried by unanimous voice vote with the three supervisors present voting in favor.
County staff were directed to update the agenda for the Thursday meeting to reflect the continued item. The board then adjourned the special meeting.
