Parks maintenance team reports winter projects: splash-pad repairs, playground fiber replenishment, new park signs

Jesus Coronado, Parks Division Manager, briefed the board on winter maintenance and small capital projects. Staff said crews added concrete "ribbons" around splash pads to better contain water, including a wider ribbon at Scarborough Park. Crew work this winter included replenishing playground wood-fiber safety surfacing and repairing several playground elements at Redbud Park; some repairs at Redbud remain to be completed.
Coronado said the parks crew completed 131 work orders during the winter reporting period and recorded labor of "25:11 hours," as reported to the board. He also said crews will set concrete bases for four new park signs at Gill, Lake Kirby, Seabee and Scarborough parks and expected the signs to be installed in the following weeks.
Board members thanked staff for the work; no formal action was taken on the maintenance report.
