1) Private-property debris removal — Approved to begin sign-ups and contractor assessments; county will front costs and seek FEMA reimbursement. Staff will return with cost estimates after sign-ups. (Motion passed.)
2) Animal Control budget amendment — Approved increasing the Department of Animal Control appropriation from $441,989 to $452,489, a $10,500 increase to be funded from prior-year donation funds in the general fund balance for replacement of 18 kennel gates. (Motion passed.)
3) Permit-fee waiver extension — Approved extending waiver of certain storm-related permit fees through Feb. 28, 2025, to assist homeowners repairing storm damage. Staff will return at the second February meeting if further extension is needed. (Motion passed.)
4) Blue Ridge Parkway proclamation — Approved submission of a proclamation supporting state grant efforts to repair Parkway storm damage and to coordinate with affected counties. (Motion passed.)
