Resident proposes asphalt pump track at Oscar Road Park near skate park

Brownwood described a pump track as “an asphalt loop with a series of small hills where you can generate momentum so you don't have to kick or pedal your bike.” He said the facility could serve people using bikes, scooters and skateboards across age groups and suggested locating it around the perimeter of the existing skate park so younger users could remain on the edges while older users used the more advanced bowl.
Brownwood said he contacted a builder in Austin during preliminary research and was quoted “about $40 a square foot for a track such as this,” which he described as a high-end estimate and said could be lower. He provided business cards from the builder to board staff for follow-up.
The board did not take formal action on the comment. The public-comment period ended and the meeting proceeded to the posted agenda.
