Council reappoints two library board members, appoints one new member
Summary
The Payson City Council approved appointments to the library board, reappointing Jennifer Hinton and appointing Gwen Oriole (as presented), with a roll-call vote at the Jan. 15 meeting.
Carl (city staff) presented nominations to the council to fill two library-board vacancies on Jan. 15. He identified outgoing and continuing members, then presented the recommended slate: reappointment of Jennifer Hinton and a proposed appointment of Gwen Oriole. Donna (the city librarian) joined the presentation and assisted with ceremonial items.
A council member moved to approve the appointments; the motion was seconded and carried on a roll-call vote. Council members recorded "yes" votes in sequence: Counselor Hyatt, Counselor Moss, Councilor Olin, Councilor Hillard and Councilor Christensen. After the vote the mayor invited the board appointees and other library volunteers to pose for a photo.
Donna presented a gift bag to outgoing member Britney Johnson and thanked volunteers and Friends of the Library members for their ongoing service.
