Denton County Commissioners unanimously approve technology purchase, courtroom architect, road easement and contracts

The Denton County Commissioners Court on Jan. 17 approved a series of routine and project-specific items, including an $843,839.68 purchase of Nutanix storage equipment, selection of an architectural firm for a temporary courtroom project, authority to acquire right-of-way for the Plainview Road project, and renewals and agreements for county services.

Why it matters: The purchases and contract awards advance county information-technology capacity, courtroom expansion and a local road project, and they secure physician services and academic internship support that affect county operations and public services.

The court approved purchase of Nutanix storage equipment from Free Data Solutions Inc., an approved reseller, using the Texas Department of Information Resources cooperative contract DIR-CP 04444. Commissioner Mitchell moved approval; Commissioner Edmondson seconded. Mr. May, who presented the bill report payments earlier in the meeting, told the court, "I have no changes today. Recommend approval as presented." The motion carried unanimously.

The commissioners also approved the renewal of bid 22727 for emulsified asphalt with Ergon Asphalt and Emulsions, Inc.; the motion passed unanimously. The court recorded the December 2024 Road Superintendent's report for the record.
