Janet Morlock of the Sierra Vista Lions Club described a Project Linus blanket-making event at The Salvation Army on Wilcox Street that she said runs Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. "If you can tie a knot, you can make a couple of blankets in the few hours that we're there," Morlock said, explaining that the group supplies fleece and materials and that completed blankets are distributed to children in need, including those in foster care or facing medical challenges.
Scott Borlstead of the Sierra Vista Police Department reminded listeners that Coffee with a Cop is scheduled for Saturday from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Dunkin' Donuts inside Walmart. "If you've got any questions or concerns and you just wanna, you know, have a cup of coffee and a donut, come on over," Borlstead said.
