The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality on Jan. 16 adopted enforcement orders for items 6 through 35 on its agenda.
Michael Parrish and other Enforcement Division staff presented the package and summarized assessed administrative penalties totaling $970,424, of which $176,305 were deferred, $157,432 were applied toward supplemental environmental projects, and $636,687 were directed to general revenue. Staff said they were available to answer questions.
Office of Public Interest Counsel staff Garrett Arthur said OPIC reviewed the enforcement items and supported adoption. Several commissioners then moved to adopt items 6 through 35 as recommended by the executive director; the motion passed on an affirmative voice vote.
The orders cover multiple facilities and alleged violations; individual docket entries were presented as a single package and adopted together. The commission did not take separate oral argument on the items at this meeting.
