Committee approves multiple board appointments and reappointments; several items carried by voice vote or postponed

- Reappointment of Dean Babcock to the AIC advisory board (Proposal 27, 2025). Babcock said he represents people with substance use disorders and currently works under contract for Marion County Public Health; committee approved the reappointment by voice vote.
- Reappointment of Emily Rubin to the AIC advisory board (Proposal 28, 2025). Rubin noted family history tied to the Rubin Engagement Center and described personal experience with addiction and overdose; the committee approved her reappointment.
- Appointment of Linda Major to the Domestic Violence and Fatality Review Team (Proposal 29, 2025). Major recounted previous service and described domestic violence prevention work; the committee approved the appointment and Councilor Cristo Carlino asked to be added as a co-sponsor.
- Reappointment of Kelly McBride to the Domestic Fatality Review Team (Proposal 30, 2025). The committee approved the reappointment with the member not present.
Items postponed:
- Proposal 32 (2025) appointing Anita Hall to the Marion County Community Corrections Advisory Board was moved to the next public safety meeting at the member's request.
- Proposal 25 (2025), the mayor's appointment of Lena Hill as deputy mayor for public health and safety, was postponed with counsel discussion about the timing of mayoral submissions and acting appointments; several councilors requested the nominee appear before the committee before final action.
