At its Jan. 14 session the Washington County Commissioner's Court approved a set of routine motions: appointment to the historical commission, expo rental contracts, bids for an ESD 6 satellite response station, cybersecurity training enrollment, deputy sheriff bond renewals and accounts payable.
Alongside the emergency services district hearing and action, the Washington County Commissioner's Court approved several routine items during its Jan. 14 meeting.
Appointments and contracts - The court appointed John Griggs, Ph.D., to the Washington County Historical Commission for the 2025–26 term. Motion carried (record: motion made, seconded, "All in favor... Aye... opposed? Motion carried"). - The court approved three pending expo rental and regulation contracts (graduation party, goat show, Central Texas Beekeepers Association monthly meeting) and authorized the county judge to sign.
Bids and procurement - The court authorized going out for bids for an EMS District 6 satellite response station; bids are due and will be opened Feb. 6, 2025, at 10 a.m. in the commissioner's courtroom. Motion carried.
Training, bonds and payments - The court approved enrolling in required cybersecurity training for the 2025 reporting year (training required by Texas Government Code); fee per employee was noted and budgeted for 2025. - Deputy sheriff bond renewals for Justin W. Knoeple, Ruben Fuentes and William Scott Atwood were approved. - The court approved accounts payable in the amount of $716,700.26 after removing two bills from a prior submission.
