I love doing my role as a judge,” Lortz told the council.
Council members moved and seconded a confirmation motion. The council voted in favor of the appointment; the motion passed without recorded opposition.
What comes next City staff will complete the administrative steps to finalize the appointment and follow any standard state or city procedural requirements for swearing in and reporting. The council also asked for periodic updates and quarterly communication between the court and the city to surface operational or enforcement issues.
