Ventura LAFCO elects Avila chair, Parvin vice chair; approves consent items

The Ventura Local Agency Formation Commission elected Commissioner Avila as chair and Commissioner Parvin as vice chair at its Wednesday meeting and approved consent calendar items.
The commission opened the meeting with roll call. A nomination was made and the commission voted to elect Commissioner Avila as chair; the motion passed unanimously by voice vote. Commissioner Parvin was subsequently nominated and elected vice chair; the commission approved that election as well.
Under consent the commission approved minutes and related routine items. During roll call on the consent motion Commissioner Talmage stated he would abstain from the item covering the minutes of a September meeting because he was not in attendance; the remainder of the consent items passed. The clerk and chair handled a minor correction requested to the draft minutes for remote attendance notation.
No substantive policy decisions were made under the leadership votes; the elections establish the commission—s presiding officers for the year and the consent items completed routine business for the meeting.
