The Middlesex County Development Review Committee (DRC) reported 20 applications from its December agenda, including approvals or initial approvals that the full board was asked to note at its meeting.
Kate Pellow, a planner with the county Office of Planning, summarized the DRC highlights: four new non-residential lots created as part of Main Street North Brunswick development on Route 1; approximately 36,000 square feet of new commercial space; and 151 multifamily units across several projects (132 units in Fairville and 19 in South Amboy).
Pellow described three specific projects: Phase 1 on Jean Mance Street in North Brunswick proposing a 3,600-square-foot cannabis dispensary in the Main Street development along Route 1; 116 South Main Street in Cranbury proposing a three-story self-storage facility with a five-foot sidewalk and county-standard curbing meeting ADA standards along the county road frontage; and NL Redevelopment in Fairville proposing 132 multifamily units fronting Oak Street.
Pellow also noted one exempt site plan reviewed in December for Main Street in Woodbridge proposing 13 residential units; exempt site plans are those under county thresholds (not on a county road and less than one acre of impervious coverage) and are not under the board's jurisdiction.
The summary was presented as part of the DRC report and offered to the board for questions; no separate full-board votes on these individual DRC actions were recorded in the transcript.
