The Salem Public Schools building committee recorded two formal actions at its Dec. 19 meeting.
1) Working group established: The committee approved a motion "that we established today, December 19th, a working group that will consist, be comprised of Paul and Betsy." The motion was seconded by Keith and the chair called for opposition; the motion carried. The record in the meeting does not list an individual mover by name beyond the motion text; the committee accepted the motion and formed the working group to support project tasks and to convene on a rolling basis. No vote tally with named members was recorded in the transcript; the committee directed that working-group chairs be identified and that the groups report back at the January meeting.
2) Finance working-group invoice approval: The finance working group approved an invoice of $1,750 for the school committee retreat; that approval was recorded as unanimous. The finance update also said the first MSBA reimbursement request had been submitted and that Lisa Golden will enter future reimbursement requests into the MSBA pro-pay system and alert the finance group to review them before submission.
Ending: The committee noted both items will be revisited as the working groups convene and as reimbursements and invoices flow through the MSBA payment system.
