The Pulaski beer board approved a beer permit for Arrigo Musketina, a Mexican restaurant relocating to 213 North First Street in Old Rollers shoe building. Councilmembers said staff visited the site and that the business is progressing toward opening.
John Green, a city staff member, said the restaurant is moving from the old Walmart shopping center location and is "pretty close to opening up." Council members briefly discussed distance-from-church rules applicable to liquor-by-the-drink licenses and noted that the state controls that part of the approval process. "I assume, most of these places also serve margaritas. So I assume they also play fine for liquor-by-the-drink. But, of course, that'll be through the state," a councilmember said.
The board voted on the permit; a motion to approve was made by Councilmember Miles and seconded by Councilmember Gentry, and the permit was approved on roll call. Staff did not report any additional local conditions attached to the permit at the meeting.
