County commissioners approve organizational resolutions, consent calendar and proclamations in unanimous votes

The El Paso County Board of Commissioners on Jan. 14 adopted a set of routine organizational resolutions, approved the consent calendar and passed two proclamations by unanimous 5-0 votes.

The board approved a resolution appointing board leadership (item 5) naming Carrie Geithner as chair and Holly Williams as vice chair; reaffirmed its parliamentary rules (item 6); adopted the county administrative organizational structure (item 7); modified commissioner liaison responsibilities for 2025 (item 8); found the county crime-insurance policy sufficient in lieu of bonds for elected officials (item 9); and reaffirmed the official public-posting location and the clerk and recorder as custodian of minutes (item 10). The consent calendar (item 11, items 11a–11L3) was also approved without debate.

The board then adopted proclamations recognizing Martin Luther King Jr. Day (item 12) and National School Choice Week (item 13). Both proclamations passed on roll-call votes of 5-0.

Several of the items were described by the county attorney and county administrator as routine annual organizational matters and were approved with no public comment or debate.
