Staff reports 60% drawings for Cedar Street; stormwater routing to Avista property under review

City staff told the committee that 60% design drawings for the Cedar Street reconstruction are complete; changes since the 30% plans mainly address stormwater routing, including conveyance to the Avista property at the west end of Cedar Street. Sidewalks and ramps showed few design changes between 30% and 60%.
City staff told the Sandpoint Pedestrian and Bicycle Advisory Committee that 60% design drawings for the Cedar Street reconstruction were completed shortly before the Jan. 9 meeting, and that most changes between the 30% and 60% drawings relate to stormwater design.
Brandon (staff liaison) said he would distribute the 60% drawings in preparation for the committee’s next meeting. He reported that sidewalk alignment and ramp designs showed few changes between 30% and 60% materials, while the team concentrated on stormwater routing and where stormwater would discharge — notably consideration of routing stormwater to the Avista property at the west end of Cedar Street.
Staff invited committee members to review the plans and offered one-on-one meetings at City Hall with Holly (public works director) or Brandon to go over the designs. Members noted some had email-access issues and were advised plans were available in the meeting packet; staff said they would resend and post the 60% materials for review.
No formal design decisions were made at the committee meeting; staff said review and comment would continue, and that staff remain available to meet with committee members individually.
